IMAGINE: Loki and you escaping Asgard

Loki and you are in the Asgard library, reading together. Out of Loki and Thor, your brothers, you are most close to Loki. Though you grew up with Thor, Loki is your blood brother. Odin took Loki and you in when you were both Frost Giant infants. While at first discovering the news Loki and you were furious. It took you quicker to calm down than it did Loki, but eventually you were able to calm Loki down long enough to have a civil conversation with Odin. While it was rocky building that relationship again with your father, Loki and you have been doing it slowly but surely. When a servant enters the library, Loki and you both look up. "Lady Y/N, your father would like to speak with you." She says, curtsying to you slightly. Loki and you look at each other. His eyebrows are drawn in confusion and you just shrug. “I'll be right back." You say, getting up. You walk out of the room. “He's in the throne room, my lady." The servant states. “Thank you." You smile at her before hurrying to the throne room.      "Father." You say, entering the throne room. “Ah, Y/N, come here." Odin replies, beckoning you closer with his hand. "You wanted to speak with me?" You ask, sitting on the steps before him. He stands up and motions with his hands for you to do so also. Your eyebrows furrow in concern at the serious look on his face as you stand up. “Y/N." He says, clasping your hands in his. “Father." You frown. “Y/N, you are a beautiful, talented, intelligent, kind, young woman. I hate to see you wasting your days away in that library reading with Loki or in the armory fighting with Thor." You stiffen. "I wouldn't consider that wasting my days away." You let out a little laugh without any mirth. “Well, no, of course you wouldn't. But I would." He retorts. You clench your jaw and start to feel your hands sweating in his. You have an inkling that you're not going to like what he has to say. “Y/N, I've done some serious considering and I think it's time you get married." You jump back in shock and horror and nearly stumble down the stairs. You rip your hands from his to steady yourself, your heart feeling like it's about to pull through your chest. “What?!" You gasp, glaring at Odin. "You need to find a husband. We need to find a husband worthy of you." “But-but-but-but I don't want to get married! At least not yet! I'm still so young!" You sputter. “Y/N, I really don't care. I know what's best for you. You're wasting your days away, you're wasting your young life doing nothing fruitful with your life. You're getting married." He states, his voice hardening. You cross your arms and glare at him. "And if I refuse?" Odin pulls himself to his full height and stares at you with such hardness in his eyes it chills you to the bone. "Then you will be exiled from Asgard." His voice booms in the room. Your eyes widen and your jaw drops. "You wouldn't." You breathe. He continues to stare at you. "You would exile me—your own daughter—for refusing to get married? Since when have you given your children ultimatums?" You spit angrily. "I can't believe you." You grit out, spinning on your heel to leave. Odin grabs your arm painfully and draws you close. You glare up at him, hatred like nothing you've ever experienced coursing through you. “And if you dare tell anyone, especially Loki, of this, you will be exiled immediately, regardless of whether you marry or not." He hisses. You feel a nerve in your face twitch and you wrench your arm from his grip, before tearing out of the room.      You run to the armory, grab a sword off of the weaponry wall, and haul it to the training bay. You take out a dummy and attack with everything you've got. By time you're finished, your arms are shaking, feeling like they're going to fall off your body, sweat is rolling down your back, your hair is down in wisps all around your face, and you're breathless. You circle the dummy that is in a pile. “Um, wow, Y/N, did you do this?" Thor asks, stepping onto the training bay. You nod, still trying to catch your breath. He looks from you to the dummy multiple times, concern filling his eyes. "Are you okay?" He asks worriedly. You open your mouth to say something but then slam it shut. "I'm fine." You grit out, stepping over the dummy and brushing past Thor to get to the armory.      You barely say a word to anyone for the rest of the day. After a seriously tension-filled dinner, you head back to your room. Loki excuses himself from the dining room and follows you out. "Y/N! Y/N, wait!" He exclaims, running to catch up with you. He gently grabs your elbow, so unlike Odin, and pulls you to a stop. He comes around to face you, worry etched onto his face. "Are you all right?" “Yeah." You lie. “You don't have to lie to me, Y/N." He whispers, stepping close to you. "I know something has happened. Something since your talk with Odin. You haven't been acting yourself. And dinner was painful tonight. There was so much tension and father was reaching for conversation topics." He explains. With your brother staring at you like this, you feel the truth start to bubble up. "Loki, I-" You start to say when the doors to the dining room open. Odin walks through and just stops, staring straight at you, a warning in his glare. You feel the breath come out of you. "I'm fine." You lie, before kissing your brother on the cheek and then walking away from him, leaving him staring after you in concern. He turns and sees Odin by the doors. His confusion and concern for you deepens as he looks at your retreating back. ———      For the next few weeks, you barely leave your room. At this point you almost want to be exiled, just to be free of Odin. You hear a knock on your door. "Who is it?" You ask. “It's Loki." A voice replies. You sigh heavily. "Come in." He opens the door. "Hey, stranger." He smiles sadly. You don't return the smile. “Hi." You breathe, setting the book aside that you're reading. Loki sits beside you. "You know you can still come to the library. I don't know why you've suddenly taken a fancy to reading in your bedroom." He murmurs. You look away from him. For the past few weeks, you've avoided Loki at all costs. Seeing him looking so worried about you makes not telling him about your father's threats so much harder. “It's easier that way." You blurt out before you can stop yourself. Loki's eyebrows furrow. "I-I don't understand. What's easier?" You don't answer him. He reaches over and grabs your hand. "Y/N, you can tell me what's going on. You know you can. You don't have to hide things from me. I'm your brother, and I love you." You bite your lip, staring at him. "I....Loki...." You whisper, before you burst into tears. “Oh, Y/N." He whispers, pulling you into his arms and holding you against him as you cry. “You mustn't tell anyone, Loki. You have to promise me. You can't tell anyone what I'm about to tell you." You sob against him. “Of course I won't. I promise." He smooths back the hair from your face and tilts your head up to look at him, concern for you pooling in his eyes.      "Odin has told me that I must marry." Loki's eyebrows raise. "And you don't want to get married?" “No, not right now. But that's besides the point, Loki. He told me that I must marry or I will be exiled from Asgard, never to return. He told me that if I tell another living soul, I will automatically be banished, regardless of whether I choose a husband or not." Shock shows on Loki's face but then it quickly darkens with anger. "He what?" He grits out. “I didn't know what to do. I don't want to get married but I don't want to be exiled. I wanted to tell someone—I wanted to tell you—so badly. But I was so scared. Odin has been watching me like a hawk. I can't go anywhere without him being there, in the shadows, somewhere, always listening, always watching. I can't escape him." You cry. Loki tries to calm his breathing, but you can see his skin changing to blue, his eyes red. You cup his face. "Loki, Loki, Loki, breathe. It's okay." You whisper, resting your forehead against his. It takes him a few minutes to turn back to his normal self. "What am I going to do?" You ask, shaking your head. “You mean what are we going to do?" You stare at him. "What do you mean?" “I'm not letting you go through this alone, Y/N. That was never intended. We are doing this together." He states, grabbing your hand. “What should we do?" You ask, biting your lip. “I think we should disappear. I think we should run, Y/N. Get away from here, from Asgard, from Odin. While he's king, we can't live peacefully. I thought we could. I had hoped we could, but this only makes me see that Odin hasn't changed. He's still heartless. He's still cruel. And he will never change. He doesn't see us as his children, Y/N. More like his wards who he's forced to take care of. He doesn't love us. If he did, he wouldn't be threatening to exile you." "You're right." You say hoarsely. "So we run. We run before he can make us leave. But where do we go?" "Anywhere. Anywhere away from him and away from Odin." Loki replies. "When do we leave?" “As soon as possible. Tonight. We should get our things in order and leave before anyone realizes we're gone." He whispers. “Okay." You breathe, nodding. "Okay." You say. Loki hugs you. "I won't let anything happen to you, Y/N. Odin included." He vows. “I love you, Loki." You whisper into his hair. “I love you." He murmurs. [THE END] I hope you liked it!
