You're digging through the dirt, making room for a new plant, when you glance up and see Frodo Baggins walking towards your Hobbit hole. A smile immediately blooms on your lips. You stand and wipe your hands on your skirt. "Frodo, what brings you over this way?" You ask. He leans against your fence, staring at you with his cute smile. "Can't I just come to see a beautiful woman?" You try to hide your smile as you hook your thumb over your shoulder. "Mother isn't home right now, but when she gets back, I'll tell her that you came calling." You say, staring at him innocently. Frodo stares at you for a long second before both of you burst out laughing. He opens the fence and wraps his arm around your waist, pulling you to his side. “Y/N, not that your mother isn't beautiful, but it's you that I came to see." “Ah, that's what I thought." You grin. Frodo suddenly gets serious. He turns to face you completely, his hands holding your dirty ones. “Oh, Frodo, my hands are filthy." You gasp, trying to pull your hands out of his grasp. He only holds tighter. “Y/N, I was wondering if you'd like to take a walk with me tonight." Your eyebrows raise slightly. "Yeah, I would love that." He gives you a nervous smile and squeezes your hands. "I'll come after dinner." He tells you before kissing your cheek. He releases you and leaves, shutting the fence. You watch him curiously as he walks back towards Bag End and then you shake your head, smiling, before going back to your gardening. ——— True to his word, right after dinner you hear a knock on your door. You rush to open it and you see Frodo beaming at you. "Are you ready?" He asks. “Yes." You say breathlessly, shutting the door behind you. Frodo slips his hand into yours and you're both wordless as he leads you down the path. The full moon gleams across the Shire, illuminating everything and the warm spring breeze clings to the air. It's a beautiful night. After about ten minutes of walking, Frodo finally stops at a stone bridge over the Brandywine River. It takes you put a second to realize all of the wild flowers beautifully littering the stone floor of the bridge. You look up at Frodo, questioning. He takes a deep breath and holds both of your hands. "Y/N, I've known you for...well, forever. I can't even remember a time in my life when you weren't in it. You are such a dear friend and I can't imagine my life without you. When no one else was there, you were. When my life seemed so dark, you were my light. When I thought I would never smile again, you were my laughter. You have brought something to my life that I can't live without. I can't live without you, Y/N. You know how much I care about you--love you. And I do. I love you so much. But, Y/N, I want to marry you. I want to spend the rest of my life with you. And it's my hope that you want the same." Tears prick your eyes and you rapidly blink them away, but they just keep coming. Frodo falls to one knee, clutching your hands in his. "Y/N, would you do me the greatest honor and become Mrs. Frodo Baggins?" He asks nervously. In this very moment, he reminds you of a small child. He looks so innocent, so hopeful. It makes your heart want to explode with love for him. Your chin quivers as you smile. "Of course I will." You gasp, falling to your knees in front of him. Frodo pulls you into his arms as you hold onto each other tightly. "I love you, Frodo." You whisper into his neck. He pulls his head away from yours and stares into your eyes. He caresses your cheek with his fingers and then leans his head down to kiss you. As Frodo and you kiss, fireworks explode in the sky. You pull away, laughing. "What in the world?" You ask. “Gandalf." Frodo grins. You laugh and pull Frodo close so that you can kiss him again. [THE END] I hope you liked it!
