IMAGINE: Jin confessing his love to you
You sit in Ossu Seiromushi, your best friend Jin's restaurant that he shares with his brother, after closing. You lightly strum your guitar, waiting for Jin to get out his office. Most of the lights are off, save for the street lights shining through the windows. You hum softly to the tune you're playing on your guitar. Jin's office door opens and he walks out. He stops when he sees you, a look of surprise skittering across his face. "Y/N, what are you doing here? Your shift ended two hours ago." You hop off the chair you're sitting on. "Yeah, I know. I just wanted to walk home with you. We've been so busy we haven't really had time to just talk." You smile at him. Jin smiles. "Let me just go get my jacket." He says before disappearing down the hall. He returns a half a minute later as you're packing up your guitar. Once you're ready, Jin and you walk out of the restaurant. He locks the doors, and you both head in the direction of your apartment complex. Besides Jin and you being best friends since childhood, you also are neighbors. Recently, you've been starting to feel something more than friendship for Jin. You've tried to shove down your feelings and ignore them, but it's like they're taking over you. You don't want to act on your feelings in fear that it will threaten what Jin and you have. If Jin doesn't return your feelings, things would be beyond awkward and you couldn't deal with it. As Jin and you walk down the dark streets, talking and laughing, it starts to drizzle. "Oh no." You laugh softly, before closing your eyes and lifting your face to the sky, feeling the raindrops hit your face. You smile and sigh. A few moments go by before you open your eyes and look at Jin. You find him gazing at you, smiling gently. "What?" You laugh nervously, never having seen that look on his face before. "Nothing." He murmurs softly. You narrow your eyes suspiciously. "It's nothing!" He insist, laughing, gently nudging you. The rain turns from a drizzle into a full-on downpour. "I don't think we're going to make it back to the apartment dry." You grin. Jin grabs your free hand which sends shocks up your arm. "Come on, there's an awning over there we can stay underneath until the rain lets up." He and you hurry across the street to the safety of the awning. You set your guitar case on the steps of the building, far out of the range of the rain. You rest against the walls, Jin across from you on the small porch. "I guess I picked a bad night to walk home together." You admit. "Nonsense. It's perfect." He smiles at you. "Yeah, and we're drenched." "It's fine, Y/N." He chuckles. "I-I-I love spending time with you..." He looks at you. It's that look again from moments ago. Your mouth goes dry and you swallow hard. "I love spending time with you too. We've both been so busy lately, we haven't had time to just talk and hang out with each other. I've...I've missed you." You say softly. Jin pushes himself off the wall and slowly walks towards you. "I've missed you too." He murmurs. Your breath comes fast as he moves close to you, just a few inches in front of you. He lifts a hand up and gently caresses your face. You just stare at him, frozen in place. He lowers his head down and his mouth hovers right over yours. You stare into his eyes before closing your eyes and tilting your head up slightly. He wraps an arm around your waist and kisses you softly. You put your hands on his chest and kiss him back, throwing all thoughts of caution to the wind. A long moment passes before you pull your head back and stare at Jin, whose eyes are still closed. "This-this changes everything." You breathe. "Does it matter?" He smiles, opening his eyes to look at you. "It does." You say worriedly. "What happens to us now?" "What do you mean what happens? We have feelings for each other, Y/N. I want to be in a relationship with you. I don't want to be just friends with you anymore. I haven't wanted that for a while. I want to be your boyfriend." He states. You feel like crying from happiness, but worry takes over instead. Jin peers into your eyes, his eyebrows furrowing. "That-that is what you want, isn't it?" He says, unsure. "Of course that's what I want." You whisper. " "Then why do you look like you're about to take off running down the street?" "Because I'm scared, Jin. What happens if we break up? How awkward will that be? Could we even still be friends? I don't want to risk our friendship in order to pursue a relationship together. I don't want to lose you." Jin sighs. "Y/N, our friendship is stronger than anything we face. We've been friends since we were little kids. We know each other better than we know anyone else. If we break up, who says we can't be friends still? It's only as awkward as we make it. We're still going to be friends. Nothing—not even the possibility of our breakup—will change that." He cups your face. "What if we're meant to be together? What if, because we're scared, we're going to miss out on something beautiful and wonderful? Would you be willing to take that risk?" You slowly shake your head. "No. No, I wouldn't." You whisper. He rests his forehead against yours too. "I'll admit, Y/N, I'm a little scared too, but I'm more excited in being in a relationship with you. I've wanted this for so long." He whispers. "You have?" You ask in surprise. "Yes." "I guess it took me a little longer to catch on." You smile. "Better late than never." He chuckles, kissing your forehead. You sigh and wrap your arms around him. "I could get used to this." You whisper. "We have all of our lives to get used to this." Jin murmurs, before kissing you. [THE END] I hope you liked it!
