You sit with Barry on his sofa, your legs shaking. "Whoa, Y/N, are you okay?" Your boyfriend asks worriedly, putting his hand on your knee. You look at him. "You know I told you that I have to tell you something?" He draws his hand back and frowns. "You're not...you're not breaking up with me, are you?" He breathes. “No, no. No. Of course not. Although you may not want to be with me when you hear what I have to say." You gulp. Barry stares at you and then nods once. "Okay.” You take a deep breath. "A few weeks ago I discovered something I wish I hadn't." You state hoarsely. "Killer Frost, Barry. Killer Frost." You cry. “What do you mean Killer Frost? You've found someone who is Killer Frost?" He asks desperately, clutching your shoulders in his hands. You start weeping, sick of keeping this secret that has been plaguing you. "Yes! It's me, Barry! I'm transforming into Killer Frost!" You sob, before burying your face in your hands. “I'm so scared, Barry. I'm absolutely terrified. I don't want to turn into a heartless killer. That's not me. That's not who I am." You weep, looking at Barry who's staring at you in shock. Your hands shake in front of you. "I'm turning into a monster and I can't do anything to stop it." You whisper. Barry's warm hands cover your ice cold ones. You look at his hands covering yours and then you meet his eyes. Instead of the horror and disgust you thought you were going to see in them, you see love in them. Love with an underlying bit of fear. "Help me, Barry. Take these powers from me. I don't want them. I don't want to be a murderer." You beg. He reaches a hand up and softly cups the side of your face. You turn your cheek into his hand. "You know I can't do that, love. You know I don't know how to." He whispers, moving close to you. He rests his head against your temple, his one arm going around you. "But I will do everything I can to make sure you don't turn into a murderer. I know you're strong enough to overcome those desires. I know you can use your power for good. Because that's who you are. That's the woman I fell in love with." He whispers. “Barry." You whisper, wrapping your arms around him. He kisses you and then pulls you tightly into his arms. You rest your head on his shoulders and close your eyes, feeling at peace in his arms. Barry stares at the wall, trying to contain his emotions. He knows how much you need him, but if he's honest with himself, he's terrified. Not of you, but of your powers—of what you can do if you can't control them. He swallows and rests his head on yours. ——— "So, your powers." Barry states, sitting on your kitchen counter the next morning. “My powers." You echo. “How advanced are they?" "Not that advanced. I can't freeze anything. The first manifestations are just beginning." “What type of manifestations are they?" Barry questions curiously, watching you as you fiddle with a pencil. “I wake up and my windows are frosted over even though it's summer time. I don't even need ice for my water glasses anymore. I'm cold all of time, even being outside in the sun. My hands are practically frozen all of the time." You whisper with a light shrug. "Stuff like that." You add. You rub your arm as if too ward off a chill. "I'm just getting scared. These manifestations are becoming more and more frequent. They're getting stronger. I'm so scared that in time I won't be able to control them. That they'll consume me." You sigh. Barry hops off the counter and pulls you into his arms. "I'm not going to let that happen, Y/N." He vows. “You're not going through this alone. I'm going to be there with you every step of the way." You smile up at him. "Thank you, Barry. I'm so glad and relieved that I told you. This secret was eating me alive." “I'm glad you told me too." He smiles back and then kisses your forehead. ——— A few weeks later you enter Barry's door, panic stricken. Your powers have gotten really strong lately. An hour ago, you froze over your sofa accidentally. Your powers are getting out of control and you need Barry to calm you down. You're about to call out Barry's name, announcing that you're here, when you hear him talking to someone on the phone. “I don't know what to do, Cisco. I see her powers are getting stronger every day. I'm trying to be supportive, but I'm worried. I'm scared for her...of her. She's so powerful. She could do so much damage." You hear him say. Your heart sinks and you feel emotion well up inside of you. "I know, I know. But I can't help her, Cisco. I'm trying, but there's nothing I can do to help her except calm her down or lift her up when she needs me to do. Otherwise, she's on her own. There's nothing I can do for her." He replies to whatever Cisco says. Tears burn in your eyes and your hands freeze over. The things nearest to you start accumulating frost. "Whoa, dude, it just got so cold in here. Give me a sec, I gotta turn the thermostat down. The air must be broken or something." Barry says, coming out into the hall where you are. He stops when he sees you, his cellphone pressed to his ear. "Uh, Cisco, I gotta call you back." He says, before ending the call. He plays with his phone in his hands. "Y/N, what are you doing here?" He asks, glancing at your hands nervously. “Why-why are you so cold? You're freezing everything." You glare at him angrily, tears splattering down your cheeks and freezing in place. You hiccup on a sob. "I'm on my own, huh?" You whisper hoarsely. You step closer to Barry and he actually backs away from you. "You can do nothing for me except be my shoulder to cry on?! Is that all you've ever been?!" You exclaim, ice forming with each step you take towards him. You can see your breath in the air. “Y/N, stop. Calm down, okay? You need to calm down." Barry tells you, his hands up in surrender. “I don't need to calm down! Don't tell me to calm down! I came here because I needed help! I came to you, my boyfriend, in the first place because I loved you and I trusted you to help me!" “I can't help you, Y/N! There's no cure! There's no anything!" He exclaims. You stare at him. He takes a step closer to you. "I'm helping you the only way I know how. I'm helping you by being supportive and being there for you at all times." He says softly. “Is it true you're scared of me?" You ask him suddenly. His eyes widen slightly and you scoff, shaking your head. "I should've known. My own boyfriend fears for his life when he's around me." You state bitterly. “Y/N, no–”Barry starts, reaching a hand out to you. “No!" You scream, shooting a blast of ice out of your hand. Barry falls to the floor just in time as it crashes into his wall. The sound of ice crackles all throughout the room. You stare at your shaking hand, gasping. You look at Barry who's laying on his side, his eyes wide in horror. He looks between the large ice shard in the wall and you, his chest falling up and down rapidly. “Y/N--” He says, moving to stand up. “No." You gasp out, backing away from him. "Don't come near me. Get away from me." You breathe. “You-you were right. I'm so powerful. I-I can do so much damage...too much damage. I'm too dangerous." You whisper in horror, backing away towards the door. Ice cracks beneath your feet. "I'm sorry, Barry. I'm so sorry." You cry, before tearing out of the house. “Y/N, wait!" Barry screams. You don't turn back. ——— You stare down at the waters below the bridge. Your hands are on the ledge of the bridge, ice forming around them. You're crying as you take deep staggering breaths. You're too dangerous to be kept alive. You're planning on throwing yourself into the water below. Once you hit the water, you figure it'll freeze over, keeping you trapped to seal your fate. “I'm so sorry. I'm so, so sorry." You sob, shivering. You pull yourself up onto the ledge and stand at the very edge. You take a deep breath and close your eyes. You're about to jump when you hear Barry scream, "Y/N, don't!" You look at him and then lean forwards, teetering off the edge. Barry flashes over to you before you can fall. He grabs you into his arms. “What were you thinking?!" He screams at you, setting you down on the sidewalk. He paces in front of you, his face distraught. "Is suicide really the answer you came up with?!" He asks, glaring at you. “I'm too dangerous, Barry! Too dangerous to be kept alive! You practically said it yourself!" You shout back, your arms crossing over your chest. He gapes at you. "I said no such thing!" He exclaims. He sits down next to you with a sigh. "Look, Y/N. I said you were dangerous and powerful. But never too much that you had to die." He says gently. “Do you think I want to die?" You shake your head at him. "I never wanted to live more, but if I'm putting people in harm's way, I don't deserve to live." You choke out. “Y/N, you're not putting people in harm's way." Barry protests. You stare at him as if he's crazy. "Are you serious? I almost killed you today." “That was my fault. I never should have said those things to Cisco about you." Barry replies. You throw a little pebble across the street. "You didn't do anything wrong. It was me. I was just so hurt." You mutter. “I should have done more to help you, Y/N. And I apologize for that. I think I was just in so much shock that you were transforming into Killer Frost. I was panicking. And I'm sorry. I need to be more than a shoulder to cry on or someone you can come to for help. I need to find a cure." You give him an appreciative smile. "Thanks, Barry. But you yourself said there was no cure. But thank you for saying that." “Y/N, I'm serious. I'm going to find a cure for you. I'm not playing backseat boyfriend anymore. I'm calling shotgun and I'm going to help you control this. I'm going to help cure this." He tells you, his hands clutching yours. Tears fill your eyes. "Thank you, Barry." You whisper. He kisses you deeply. “I love you so much, Y/N. I love you more than anything. I hope you know that." He whispers. “I do. And I love you too." You breathe, closing your eyes. He kisses you again. [THE END] I hope you liked it!
