IMAGINE: Meeting Barry after the new timeline

Cisco, your boyfriend of one month, and you walk hand in hand through the park, the warm summer breeze blowing your hair all around your face. You laugh softly and brush it back, putting what pieces you can behind your ear. "Hey, let's get out of this heat and go grab an ice cream or something." Cisco suggests. “I'm so down. There's only so much humidity this girl can take." You laugh. Cisco grins at you. You both hurry through the park and then jump into Cisco's car. He drives to the nearest ice cream shop where you spend the next few hours just talking and enjoying each other's company. Cisco parks outside of your apartment building and turns in his seat to face you. "It was fun hanging out with you today, Y/N." He smiles at you. “I enjoyed it." He hugs you. "I'll call you tonight, okay?" “That sounds good." You murmur into his neck. He kisses your cheek and then you unbuckle. You get out of the car and walk into your apartment building.      You walk down your hall towards your apartment and stop when you see a man sitting with his back against your door. He's on his phone. "Can I help you?" You ask cautiously. He looks up and his eyes go big. "Y/N." He breathes, standing up. Your eyebrows draw. "Who are you?" You question. He swallows and takes a step towards you. You take a step back, on your guard. He stops moving. He stares at you as if you're just a figment of his imagination. It's haunting. “My name is Barry Allen." "Is that supposed to mean anything to me?" You raise an eyebrow. “I was your boyfriend, so yeah, I'd hope so." He states blankly.      "My boyfriend?" You scoff. "Uh, yeah, I'm pretty sure I'd remember having you as my boyfriend, but I don't. So why don't you just get out of here before I call the police.” You reach for your phone. “No, no, no, no, wait. I have proof!" He exclaims, whipping his phone out. In a few seconds he holds it out to you. You still. "No. No. That's impossible." You stutter, shaking your head. It's a picture of Barry and you, arms around each other, grinning like two fools in love. You keep scrolling, seeing picture after picture of Barry and you. You have no memory of any of this. Your heart starts pounding wildly. You’re panicking. What happened to you? “Why don't I remember this? Why don't I remember you?" You ask helplessly, looking up at Barry for answers. “It's a lot to explain and I'm sure you'd think I'm an absolute psycho if I told you everything." “Well, tell me something because I-I-I don't know what to think!" “I have these powers...I had to stop this threat. I had to go back in time and create a new timeline. Everything changed and went out of whack. In this new timeline, we're not together. You don't remember me. You have a new life." He tries to explain. “And a new boyfriend." You mutter. "What?" “I don't know if you know a Cisco Ramon, but we're dating." You state. Barry pales and looks so wounded. "Look, I'm sorry! But it's kind of hard to remember a boyfriend I don't even know!" You defend, crossing your arms. Barry stays silent and just looks away from you. You swallow. “Were-were we in love?" You ask tentatively. He looks so beyond hurt it tears your heart in two. He scrolls through his phone and then turns it towards you. Your breath leaves you in a rush. It is a picture of a diamond ring. “That-that was meant for you, Y/N. I was going to propose to you before everything went absolutely insane." He admits. “I'm so sorry." You gasp in horror. ———      Barry and you sit on your couch in your apartment. "How is that you know Cisco and me but we don't know you?" You question curiously. “Before the new timeline, you introduced me to Cisco. You two were good friends and knew that we'd all work well together. Since I technically never met you in this new timeline, I never met Cisco either." He explains. "Do you just hate me for practically cheating on you?" You ask miserably. "No, of course not." He laughs softly. “How were you supposed to know anyways? Don’t blame yourself. It’s not your fault.” "What am I supposed to do?" You breathe. "I can't keep dating Cisco. I feel like I'm cheating on you, even though I have no memories of us." “Y/N, don't stop dating Cisco if you really like him." Barry says. “See, what's the thing. I like Cisco. I really do. He's great, funny, and caring. But I'm not feeling a spark. I feel like he's just my best friend—like he apparently was before the new timeline.” You admit honestly. Barry just stares at you. "Would you mind if I introduced Cisco to you?" You question. “No, I'd love it!" He exclaims. “We can talk about this and sort this mess out. Cisco will understand. He's amazing like that." You smile. “I know he is." Barry smiles back at you. “I'll just need some time to think too, Barry. I can't just rush into a relationship with you. No offense, but I don't know you. But I'd like to get to." You offer. He smiles. "It's okay, Y/N. Just take all the time you need. There's no rush. We have a lot to catch up on. And I’ll be here to help you every step of the way.” You smile. "Thanks." [THE END] I hope you liked it!
