IMAGINE: Will and you falling in love

You sit on the edge of one of the empty docks in Port Royal, your legs swinging over the side. You're watching as the sun makes its descent in the sky. You smile and start singing softly to yourself, feeling so at peace. You close your eyes, smelling the salt in the air. While you're singing, a random stray dog runs up to you. "Hi!" You exclaim, grinning as he sits next to you, his tail wagging ferociously. You pat his head and he cries. "Are you hungry?" You ask, slipping a piece of hair behind your ear. The dog shuffles closer to you. "Here, let's see what I've got in my bag." You say, opening your knapsack. Amongst your packages of dried fruits and herbs, there's a wedge of bread. You look around to make sure there aren't any other stray dogs before pulling out the bread and giving to the dog. He eats it hungrily. You chuckle. "That's a good boy." You coo. He wags his tail and curls up next to you. You smile in content and then start singing lowly again, petting the dog. "You have a lovely voice." Someone says from behind you, startling you. You jump and start to whirl around in your seated position but fail epically. Your back cracks at an odd angle and you yelp as you fall into the salty sea water. The stray dog jumps in after you as if to save you. He swims next to you. "I am so sorry!" The man exclaims in horror, kneeling down on the dock to help you out of the water. You grab his arm and he pulls you out. He grabs the dog next and helps him up. You wipe the water from your eyes and then your jaw drops at the sight of the ridiculously handsome young man before you. He seems in equal shock, his eyes wide at the sight of you. You clear your throat. "Uh, you startled me." You say, blushing with embarrassment. “I am so sorry. I didn't mean to scare you. I heard your singing and I thought it was beautiful. Making you fall into the water was never my intention." He states sincerely. “It's okay. No harm down. A little water doesn't hurt anyone." You laugh. "I'm Will." He tells you with a smile. "Y/N." You reply back, breathless. His smile makes your stomach flop. “I see you have a little rescuer, Y/N." Will nods to the dog. You laugh and pet the wet dog. "Yeah, he came up to me earlier. I fed him and now he's stuck with me." “Well he seems very fond of you." “And I him." You grin at the dog. You start to stand up, your soaking dress weighing you down. “Oh, here, let me help you." Will offers, grabbing your hand in his and wrapping an arm around your waist. He helps you stand. Once you're on your two feet, you realize how near he is to you. “Thank you, Will." You breathe nervously. He looks down at you and swallows. "You're welcome, Y/N." He murmurs. "Can-can I get you something to eat? I just feel so bad for making you fall into the water. I want to make it up to you. Would you like some dinner?" He asks, his voice hoarse. “I'd like that." You smile. Will and you start walking down the dock. You whistle for the dog and it immediately goes to your side.     Will and you eat dinner together and then he walks you home. "You're a blacksmith?" You gasp in wonder. He nods proudly. "Yes, I am." “Oh, that's wonderful! Do you make swords often?" “Oh, yes, all of the time." He laughs. "My older brother and I used to play with wooden swords all of the time. We used to chase each other through the house. He loved sword fighting so much that he took up the sport and joined the Royal Guard." "And you? Did you not enjoy it?" Will asks, staring at you. “Oh, I loved it! But I couldn't really get proper sword fighting lessons. Nobody really takes to the thought of women handling swords." You roll your eyes. “Well I could teach you." Will offers. You turn wide eyes on him. "You would?" You gasp. “Yes, I'd love to." He smiles. “When do we begin?" You ask eagerly. “Tomorrow morning?" You involuntarily throw your arms around him. "I'll be there." You say. His arms go around you and then your eyes widen with realization of your actions. You quickly pull away. "Oh, sorry." You mutter, blushing. Will gives you a look that says he isn’t sorry about it one bit. It makes you blush deeper. ———      That next morning you go to Will's workplace. He grins when he sees you. It makes your heart stutter within your chest. "Hi." He says. “Hi." You smile. “Are you ready?" “I've been looking forward to this all night long! Yes, I'm ready!" You exclaim. “Me too." He murmurs, winking. He hands you a sword. “Wow." You breathe. “Heavier than you thought?" He questions. “Yeah." You whisper, moving the sword around, getting a feel for it. You can feel Will watching you, his eyes softening, a smile blooming on his face. After a minute or two of getting used to the feel of the sword, you turn towards Will. He's staring at you, a look on his face you quite can't place. “What?" He shakes his head and the look is gone. "Nothing. Nothing." He mutters, looking away from you. He takes a deep breath and looks at you. "Ready?" He asks. You're about to say yes when you hear a bark at the door. “Oh my goodness." You start laughing. “It's not the dog, is it?" Will grins. You go to the door and open it. The stray dog runs in. “Someone has attachment issues." Will states, petting the dog. You laugh. "He was crying outside my house all night long. I finally gave up and let him inside. My mom would have killed me if she knew I let a stray in." Will smiles and that weird look comes across his face again. "You have a good heart, Y/N." He whispers. ———        Will and you practice whenever both of you have free time. You're getting good at swordfighting. Really good. One evening you go over to Will's. He beams when you walks in. "Hey, Y/N." “Hi, Will." You smile back at him. Will and you have become really close. You're starting to fall in love with him and you're pretty certain he feels the same way towards you. You pick up your sword. "Ready to be beat today?" You nudge him gently. "Y/N, you're good. But not that good." He smirks. “You're right. I'm better than good. I'm great!" You grin. Will laughs. "Oh, Y/N, I lo—" He stops and blushes, rubbing the back of his neck. Your heart skips a beat and you stare up at him expectantly. "I look forward to beating you." He quickly saves awkwardly. Your heart plummets. "Oh." You breathe. Will grabs his sword and moves across the room. He turns around to face you. "Ready?" He asks. You nod half heartedly and pull your sword up.      Will and you fight against each other. You're feeling hurt by his comment earlier. You were so sure he was finally going to tell you that he loves you. But he didn't. It stings. You try not to think about it, but you notice you're extremely tense and your swings are a little more careless. Will takes notice. "Are you okay?" He asks worriedly as you hold your sword above your head, parrying one of his strikes. You nod, not trusting yourself to speak. You do a few strikes at him and he easily blocks them all. You lunge your sword at him and he sidesteps. He grabs your wrist with his free hand. “Y/N, are you sure you're okay? You seem very distracted." He states softly. "I'm fine." You whisper, pulling your wrist out of his grasp. He just stares at you. "Let's go, come on!" You exclaim with irritation. Will comes at you and you fight hard. Strike, parry, strike, parry. He advances on you until you're backed into a corner. You know you've lost, but you continue to fight instead of calling game over. Will lifts his sword high and brings it down. You raise your sword above your head, your arms raised high, and block his strike. Both of you freeze in this position, breathing hard. He is close to you, staring down into your eyes. You gaze up at him for a long moment. Suddenly he drops his sword, steps close to you, gathers you in his arms, and kisses you deeply. Your sword clatter to the ground as you wrap your arms around him. You kiss him back. He backs you against the wall, his kiss turning passionate. “I love you. I love you. I...love...you..." He whispers against your lips. You smile and open your eyes, cupping the back of his neck. You rest your forehead against his. "I love you too." You murmur, before kissing him again. “I kind of knew I loved you from the moment I saw you singing on the dock with Charlie, your stray dog." Will admits. You laugh softly. "I knew from the moment when you pushed me into the water." You wink. “I didn't push you!" Will laughs. "You practically did." You giggle. "I guess you could say that I 'fell' for you." Will grins and hugs you tightly. "I love you so much, Y/N. I can't tell you how many times I've come so close to telling you." He whispers. “Like earlier?" He pulls back and looks at you. "Yeah." “That's what was wrong with me! I had a feeling you were going to tell me and when you didn't, my heart really wasn't in the fight anymore." You admit. “Y/N, I'm so sorry!" Will exclaims. "It's okay. It's okay." "Everyday, from this day forward, I will tell you that I love you." He vows, cupping your face in his hands. “That's fine with me." You smile, before Will kisses you again.  [THE END] I hope you liked it!
