You're making dinner for Tom, your soon-to-be-husband, when his arms come around you. You still. "Guess who?" He murmurs into your hair. You roll your eyes. "I have-I have no idea who it could be. Roger, is that you?" You joke. Tom kisses your cheek. "Just humor me, Y/N." He laughs. You smile and turn in his arms. "Hey, Tom." You say, wrapping your arms around his neck. "I thought you weren't coming over until 6:30. “Y/N, it is 6:30." Your eyes widen and you smack your forehead. "Ugh, sorry! I've been so behind today." You groan. He tugs you to the couch. "How about we sit down and take a break?" He suggests. You both sit down and he pulls you into his arms. Your head rests against his chest, listening to the strong ,steady beat of his heart. “Can we cuddle for a few hours?" Tom asks. You look up at him. "Do you want dinner or not?" You laugh. "I have some bread in the oven I need to check soon." “Let it burn." He replies nonchalantly, grinning. “Uh, let me think about that....No." You smirk. He flicks your nose. "You're no fun." He grumbles. You smile smugly up at him. "Come on, sweetie. Just a quick cuddle?" He asks. You shake your head. He stares at you seriously. "Baby. My love. Beloved. Darling. My star. Honey bunny. Sweet pea." He says. You try not to crack a smile, but fail miserably. "No." You protest, fingering his hair. He sighs, but then closes his eyes and smiles. “Honey, you're going to make me fall asleep." He groans. “Good, maybe then I'll at least be able to get my bread out of the oven before the whole kitchen goes up in flames." You snicker. You run your hand through his medium length hair. "You know, I could pay you do play with my hair all day long." He whispers with a smile. His eyes are still closed. "Well then I guess it's a good thing we're getting married soon." You grin. "Maybe we should just forgo waiting six months to get married and get married tonight." “What?!" You laugh in surprise. "Yeah, that way you'd be able to play with my hair and we could cuddle. Among other things...." He trails off, but you see the smirk dancing on his lips. You still, flushing deeply, your heart pounding as if you've just run a marathon. Your stomach flops. You quickly continue to run your hand through his hair, neither of you saying anything. Tom and you have pure reputations with each other and as individuals. Tom is remaining perfectly proper with you and you with him. You glance at him. He's being very smug about what he just said, apparently waiting for you to comment back. A sly grin slowly upturns your lips. Tom is acting a bit cocky and you need to knock your knight-in-shining armor off his high horse. "Then again we might as well just forgo the whole marriage thing all together and just cuddle and play with each other's hair. Among other things..." You say slowly, watching for Tom's reaction. “Or we can just be friends with benefits.” You add. His eyes fly open and he stares at you in shock. You pretend not to notice as you stare at his hair, your fingers working their way through it. He lets out a shaky breath, blushing hard. He shifts uncomfortably and seems flustered. You hide your smile when the over dings. “Oh, look at that, my bread's done!" You exclaim, getting up off the couch and waltzing into the kitchen. You grin widely as you pull of the loaf of bread. You become stoic when Tom enters. He leans against the counter watching you. After you're done cutting the bread, you lean forward on the counter and hold up your left hand. “I believe this ring will need to stay right where it's at for another six months, Tom." You whisper, before slowly smiling. He grins and then grabs your arm, pulling you to his chest. "Among those boundaries we talked about." He murmurs. You nod, beaming. "I love you, Y/N, and I will respect our boundaries even more than before. I want to do the proper thing as a gentleman." He tells you. You caress his face, staring up at him. "And that's exactly what you are, Tom. A gentleman. And I love you for it.” You whisper, before kissing him. He pulls you tightly against him and kisses you deeply. [THE END] I hope you liked it!
