IMAGINE: Sirius lying to the Marauders about liking you

You're walking past a closed door in Hogwarts when you hear someone say your name. You stop and tilt your head, listening. It sounds like Sirius Black. He must be talking with the rest of the marauders. Sirius and you aren't exactly boyfriend and girlfriend. However, you both have feelings for each other and are well aware of them. You move to the door and press your ear against it. "Admit it, Sirius, you totally like Y/N." Remus Lupin says. "I don't!" Sirius exclaims. Your eyebrows furrow. "Why, that liar..." You whisper. "I don't even like Y/N. She's annoying and-and not very intelligent." Sirius sputters. You gasp. The marauders laugh. You shake your head angrily. "Good, Sirius. We were worried there for a moment. Y/N isn't right for you." Peter Pettigrew says. "I know she isn't, Peter. Trust me, I know." Sirius says. You can't take it anymore. You push the door open and it slams against the wall. Sirius, Peter, Remus, and James look at you. You only have eyes for Sirius. His eyes are wide and he's pale. You blink back the tears. "Is that how you truly feel about me, Sirius?" You ask, your voice cracking. You take a deep breath and let it out. "If that's so, I want absolutely nothing to do with you." You choke out, before turning around and fleeing. "Y/N, wait!" Sirius exclaims, starting to come after you. He stops and rakes a hand through his hair, letting out a frustrated growl. He glares at the marauders. "Don't you dare ever talk about Y/N like that again." He hisses, before chasing after you. James, Remus, and Peter look at each other in confusion. --- "Y/N, stop! Please! I'm sorry!" Sirius exclaims. "Just leave me alone. I don't need your lies." You spit. He grabs your arm and pulls you to a stop in the middle of the hall. He turns you around to face him. You glare up at him. "Please, Y/N, let me explain." Sirius pleads. "Fine." You grit out. "The guys have been pestering me because they were catching on that I like you. They were noticing that I was spending time with you. They were getting suspicious. I-I had to draw them away." "But why? Do you want to keep me hidden?" You ask in confusion. "Granted, we're not 'official', but it's not like I'm trying to hide you from my friends or from the public, Sirius." His shoulders drop. "I know." He whispers. "I just-I just...I don't know...." "Is it because you wanted the guys to still think you are cool? Because you didn't want them to think that I'd take you away from them?" You ask. "Yes!" Sirius exclaims. "That's exactly it!" You nod. "Well, since that is the case, then I guess we'd better just end this where it's at now, Sirius. I don't want to take you from your friends and I don't want you to lie about me to them." Sirius's eyebrows furrow, hurt seeping into his eyes. "Y/N, no." He whispers, grabbing your hands. "I don't want to end this—what we have. Please." He begs. He steps forward and cups your face. "Don't make me lose you because of something stupid I did." He whispers. You look up at him. "I just want what's best for you, Sirius." "You are what's best for me." He insists, leaning his forehead against yours. You close your eyes. Sirius leans down and kisses you softly. "Ah, so this is what 'not liking Y/N' looks like." James says from down the hall. Sirius and you break apart and stare at the marauders. "Guys, Y/N and I do like each other. I'm not ashamed to admit it." Sirius says, wrapping his arm around your waist and pulling you to his side. "If you're not okay with that, then I'm sorry. It's just the way things are now." He adds. You smile up at him. 0We understand, Sirius. We're okay with it." Remus says, smiling a little. Peter and James nod their agreement, smiling. [THE END] I hope you liked it!
