You press your back against a wall in Imladris, listening to the conversation of the Council of Elrond. You were not invited, much to your dismay. The decision on what to do with the Ring will effect everyone. Soon the conversation goes south. Everyone is yelling at each other. You dare to lightly peek around the side of the wall. Everyone is standing and getting in each other's faces. "I will do it! I will take the Ring to Mordor." Frodo, the young Hobbit, shouts. You duck back into hiding with a gasp. There's silence. "He's either incredibly brave or incredible stupid." You mutter to yourself. Suddenly you hear the voice of your boyfriend. "By my life or by my death, I will protect you. You have my sword." Aragorn says. You gasp as if you've been punched in the stomach. Tears fill your eyes. "No." You whisper, shaking your head. You don't wait to hear anymore. Aragorn going to Mordor means certain death. You take off running as tears flood down your cheeks. --- You stand on the balcony, watching a waterfall. "Y/N." You hear a voice behind you. You stiffen at the sound of Aragorn's voice. "I need to tell you something." He states, putting his hands on your shoulders. "When do you leave?" You ask hoarsely, turning around to face him. Surprise shows on his face and then realization. "You were there listening." He says. You stare at him hard. "I-I leave tomorrow." You pull your shoulders back. "We leave tomorrow." You correct. "What?" He asks in confusion. You pull away from him, pacing. "I'm going with you to Mordor." "Y/N, no, you can't! It's too dangerous!" He exclaims. You whirl around to face him, pointing at him. "So it's not too dangerous for you then?" You ask. Aragorn doesn't say anything, but looks down. "I'm not letting you go off to Mordor without me. You might die, Aragorn. If that's so, I want to spend every minute with you. I can't possibly know if I'll ever see you again. I can't-I can't even bear the thought of not seeing you again." You say, your voice cracking. Aragorn steps towards you and gathers you in his arms. He holds you tightly and you clutch onto him. "Please don't make me say goodbye to you." You beg. He kisses your hair. "I won't. I won't." He whispers. --- Aragorn, now your husband, and you kneel on the steps of the Citadel in Gondor. Things didn't quite turn out like you thought they would when you left Imladris. But here you are, a year later, the One Ring destroyed, Aragorn and you newly married and about to become king and queen of Gondor. Aragorn and you bow your heads as Gandalf places the elegant crowns upon your head. Aragorn looks at you out of the corner of his eyes and smiles. You smile back. "I know pronounce you, Aragorn and Y/N, king and queen of Gondor." Gandalf says loudly. People start cheering and clapping. Aragorn helps you stand up. Aragorn grabs your hand and you both turn to face the crowd. Among them are some of the friends, Legolas, Gimli, Frodo, Sam, Merry, Pippin, Éowyn, and Faramir. "Are you ready, my love?" Aragorn whispers. You look up at him and squeeze his hand. "As long as we're together, I'll be ready for everything." You whisper. Aragorn leans down and kisses you, making everyone cheer even louder. [THE END] I hope you liked it!
