IMAGINE: Grayson and you falling in love

Your taxi drives through the busy streets of Los Angeles. You gape out the window, your eyes wide as you take everything in. You're in LA for a business trip. "You can park right here. My hotel is a couple of blocks down, but I can walk." You say to the taxi driver. He pulls off to the side. You pay him and then grab your suitcase out of the trunk. After you get settled into your hotel, you walk down the street in search of a Starbucks. When you find one, you wait in line to order your drink. "Y/N? Y/N L/N?" A voice asks from behind you. You turn around and gasp. "Grayson!" You exclaim in surprise, staring at your childhood best friend. He's grown up. And grown more handsome. He smiles widely. "What are you doing here? It's been so long." "I'm here for business. What are you doing here?" "I live here with my brother now." "Oh, that's so cool." You breathe. "Gosh, it's been...years. How have things been?" "Things have been really good. I've missed you. It's never been the same since we moved away from each other." You frown. "Yeah. I know. I'm sorry I didn't keep in touch. I lost all your contacts with the move and everything, and...." You trail off and bite your lip. He puts his hand on your shoulder. "Hey, it's fine. I lost yours too. I guess that's what you when you give kids contact papers, they lose them." He laughs. You smile. "Want to sit outside and catch up?" He throws his arm around your shoulders. "I wouldn't miss it for the world." He grins. --- Grayson walks you to your hotel room that night. "So how long are you in town for?" He asks. "For a week. I have a conference for a couple of days and then I'm here for the rest of the time for a little vacation." You reply, grinning. "Can I see you after your conference? I can show you around the city if you want me to." He offers. "Oh, Grayson, I'd love that." He smiles excitedly. "Okay, okay, great." You laugh. "I'll see you later, Grayson." You tell him. He suddenly pulls you into his arms and hugs you. You hug him back. A few seconds go by and then he pulls back, smiling. "Goodnight, Y/N." He murmurs. You smile back. "Goodnight." You return, your heart hammering in your chest. --- Grayson and you spend the whole week together after your conference. You've rekindled your friendship and, in your opinion, something even more. You've always thought as Grayson as a friend, but now, after all this time, it's different. It's very different. Tonight, your last night in LA, he and you walk the beach. He's been silent all night. "Man, I really don't want to go." You sigh. "That makes two of us." Grayson grumbles. "I'm sorry." You frown. "I wish you could stay longer, Y/N. I'm going to miss you so much. I've had so much fun with you this past week." He admits. "Me too. I'd like to stay here forever honestly." You laugh softly. Grayson stops walking and looks at you. "You would?" You nod and watch him. "Yeah. It's basically paradise here. I mean, I have the ocean, the beach, you..." You say slowly. You offer him a shy smile. Grayson smirks and steps close to you. "Me, huh?" He asks. You nod. He wraps his arm around your hips and tugs you close to him. "I can't have paradise with you, can I?" You question. "I'd imagine not." He replies. "Shut up." You laugh, playfully hitting his chest. "Make me." He tempts, grinning. You stare up at him as he gazes down at you. Your heart feels like it's in your throat. You put your hand on the back of his neck. You stand on your tiptoes and kiss him softly. He wraps his other arm around you and kisses you back as the surf crashes against your legs. After a long minute, you pull your head back. Grayson and you just gaze at each other. "I'm thinking that we're both feeling the same thing about each other." He states. "You're thinking correctly." You chuckle. He caresses your cheek with his knuckle. "What are we going to do now? I go back home tomorrow morning." You whisper, your eyebrows drawing. "How do you feel about long distance relationships?" Grayson asks. You half smile. "They're not too bad." "It might be a little hard, Y/N, but I believe it's worth it. I like you. A ton. We're already best friends. We know nearly everything about each other. We can withstand anything." You nod and kiss his cheek. "Yes we can." You whisper. You settle your head on his chest. He rests his chin on your head and holds you close. [THE END] I hope you liked it!
