IMAGINE: Confronting Anakin

"I'm sorry, Y/N." Obi-Wan, your older brother, says. "No." You choke out, shaking your head, refusing to believe that Anakin, your husband, has turned to the Dark Side. Your heart is breaking. You turn your back to Obi-Wan, not wanting him to see the tears flooding your eyes. Although you've never told Obi-Wan that you're married to Anakin, and that you're carrying his child, you have an inkling that your brother knows—he is a Jedi after all. Obi-Wan grabs your arm and turns you to face him as tears slide down your cheeks. His face is sympathetic. "Y/N, I know you're...close to Anakin. You have to tell me where he's gone." He insists. You look down, silent. Your brother squeezes your arm. "Y/N, I beg of you." He pleads. "Anakin has killed Younglings in the Jedi Temple. He has to be brought to justice." "I don't-I don't know where he is." You cry, feeling the guilt hit you as you lie to your brother, your best friend. Obi-Wan steps away from you, his eyebrows furrowed. He nods. "Okay." He says. He starts to leave the room, but before he exits, he looks back at you, his face remorseful. "It's Anakin's child, isn't it?" He asks. You stare at him, not saying anything. "I'm so sorry." He whispers, before leaving. You collapse onto the sofa and bury your face in your hands, sobbing. --- You land your star skiff on one of Mustafar's platforms. You swallow and grab your gun. You put it in your hip holster. You make your way out of the ship. You immediately spot Anakin running towards you. "Y/N!" He exclaims. "Anakin!" You say, running to meet him. You run into his arms. "What-what are you doing here?" He asks, holding you as tight as he can with your belly. "I had...I had to see you." You breathe. Anakin pulls you back to look at you and immediately notices your tears. "What's happened?" He asks. "Anakin. Obi-Wan said you turned to Dark Side. That-that you killed Younglings." You sob, your hands protectively covering your stomach. Your husband's eyebrows draw. "So this is why you've come? Did Obi-Wan send you here?" He asks angrily. "No!" You exclaim vehemently, shaking your head. Anakin starts to pace. "Obi-Wan knows about us, Anakin. I think-I think he wants to help us." "No. I'll never accept help from him." He scoffs. "Please, Anakin. We can raise our baby together somewhere safe. Somewhere peaceful. Please." You beg. You take a step towards him. "I love you." You whisper. "Liar!" Anakin screams. Your eyes widen in shock and you take a few step backwards. "Anakin, please. Don't do this. Don't turn to the Dark Side." You weep. Anakin looks at you and then past your head. His already angry eyes seem to get angrier. "So Obi-Wan didn't send you here?" He asks. Your eyebrows furrow and you look back to your ship. Obi-Wan is there, hands on his hips, looking between Anakin and you. "You turned her against me!" Anakin shouts at him. "No, you're the only one that did that." Your brother retorts. Suddenly Anakin lifts his hand and glares at you. You gasp as the air is immediately taken from your lungs. Your hands clutch at your throat, feeling the invisible hand choke you. "Anakin, stop!" Obi-Wan shouts, running towards him. "This is our fight! Leave my sister out of it." He commands, drawing his lightsaber. He ignites it as black dots cloud your vision. Anakin releases you as you lose consciousness. The last thing you hear is the igniting of his lightsaber. --- You wake up, your head fuzzy. You sit up, your hand on your stomach. It takes you a few seconds to gather your surroundings. Your eyes widen and you jump to your feet. "Anakin?! Obi-Wan?!" You call, not seeing them around. You take off sprinting, looking for your husband and brother. After ten minutes of searching, you see two blue lightsabers fighting near the lava. You gasp and run towards them. As you dash towards them, you see one of them get the upper hand. You squint your eyes, unable to see if it's Anakin or Obi-Wan. As you get closer you realize it's Anakin. Obi-Wan is on his back, his lightsaber nowhere in sight. His leg is bleeding and he looks like he's about to pass out. Anakin is about to kill him. "No!" You scream, withdrawing your gun from your holster. Anakin looks up at you in surprise. You shoot at the ground below his feet as a warning. "Do not kill him." You warn Anakin, your voice shaking. Anakin, ignoring you, lifts his lightsaber to bring it down on Obi-Wan. You pull the trigger. Anakin blocks it just in time. You continue to shoot your gun, crying. As the last bullet flies out of the chamber, Anakin blocks it and it ricochets back at you. It hits you in the shoulder. You cry out and stumble to the ground, clutching your bleeding shoulder. "Y/N!" Anakin shouts in horror, his eyes wide. You gasp in pain, your eyes closed tightly. "Y/N, I'm-I'm-I'm so sorry." He whispers, his voice hollow. You open your eyes and peer at him. The look on his face has changed. It almost looks as if he's awake—as if he's realized what he's done. He blinks, breathing hard. "Good, Anakin. Good." You hear someone cackling. Fear drops into the pit of your stomach. "Now...kill them both." The Emperor finishes, coming into view. You swallow and start to crawl backwards, gasping. "Anakin. Do it!" The Emperor commands. You glance at your husband who looks torn. "I-I-I-I-" He stammers. "Do it now! Kill your master and your wife and your child! Prove your loyalty to me!" The Emperor screams at him. Anakin's jaw clenches. He turns towards the Emperor. "That's the thing...I don't have any loyalty to you." He states, before Force-pushing the Emperor into the lava. Your jaw drops and your eyes bulge as the Emperor lets out a blood-curling scream as he dies in the lava. "Y/N." Anakin breathes, rushing over to you. "What-what did you do?" You whisper in shock as he kneels beside you. He puts his one hand on your stomach. "Y/N, I'm so sorry. I've been-I've been so blind. I don't know what happened to me. It was like I was being possessed." He whispers. "You were. You were being possessed by the Dark Side." Tears fill his eyes and he nods. "I almost lost you and our child because of it." He chokes out. He looks at Obi-Wan. "I almost lost my master." He whispers. "I can't even begin to say how sorry I am, Y/N. Please, please, please forgive me." He says. You give him a watery smile. "I forgive you, Ani." He looks at your shoulder. "How are you doing?" You grimace. "I'm trying not to think about it." You mutter. "Can you walk?" He asks. You nod. "Okay, I'm going to get Obi-Wan and get you both to a medical station." He quickly kisses your lips. "I love you." He whispers, before moving to Obi-Wan. --- You wake up to the sound of Anakin and Obi-Wan talking. Anakin sounds like he's been crying. When you open your eyes, you realize Obi-Wan has been too. "Hey." You whisper, letting them know you're awake. "Oh, good, Y/N, you're up." Anakin sighs, moving to your side. He grabs your hand. "How are you feeling?" He asks. "Better." You murmur. You glance at Obi-Wan and see him smiling at you. "Hey, brother." You say. "Hey, Y/N." He replies. You squeeze Anakin's hand. "So...what's going to happen to Anakin now?" You ask slowly. Anakin and Obi-Wan glance at each other. "I don't know, Y/N. That's for what's left of the Council to decide." Obi-Wan answers. Anakin swallows. You frown and look at your husband worriedly. "It's okay." He whispers, squeezing your hand. "We can get through this, Y/N. I know that now." You smile at him. "I know, Anakin." You whisper. He hugs you tightly and you close your eyes.
